Monday morning the school gathered to welcome our student visitors from Petrozavodsk, Russia. The city has been a Duluth Sister City since 1987, and Marshall is hosting 11 students and two faculty members for the next two weeks. We also had a chance to formally welcome our 12 Marshall exchange students this year, who join us from Germany, Austria, Ecuador, Brazil, Turkmenistan, Iraq, China, and Korea. A diverse group indeed!
The first phrase in the Marshall mission “is to educate students to become global citizen.” Today was a great day to see how that mission comes to life.
Tomorrow I will leave for a weeklong visit to Mumbai, India. I will be doing some strategic planning work with the American School of Bombay (http://www.asbindia.org). I hope to get a few blog entries in on the road.
