Teachers report back to school tomorrow morning, and we will be gearing up for an exciting start to the school year. Within the first month of school, students in grades 7-12 will all leave campus for a week of study in London, the UK, or Europe. Much planning goes into these activities, including rigorous “risk assessments” to make sure that the trips comply with British health and safety regulations.

It was interesting to read this past week that the English tradition of walking backwards out of the room after seeing the monarch is being dropped due to health and safety concerns.

Good thing that none of our trips this fall involved seeing the Queen  (or walking backwards out of a room).
