We have been doing quite a bit of work the past few years on writing, and the middle school has implemented a few key changes this coming school year to move the program forward. Interestingly, as we worry about the quality of writing among kids today, we can’t help but notice that the amount of writing has been increasing. The “problem” is that the forms of writing are new and unfamiliar to many teachers and parents … Facebook, Twitter, text messages. Many might argue: is this writing at all?
